AGA has successfully defended Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (also known as OTE) and its former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Panagis Vourloumis against a €52m claim for abuse of dominant position filed by a competitor in the market; claims have been irrevocably rejected by the Supreme Court.
AGA advised the HELLENIC REPUBLIC on issues raised by the European Commission in relation to the award of public contracts by the then state controlled Greek Lottery Operator, issues raised concerning the application of the provisions of Directive 2004/18, the preservation of the principles of equal treatment, prohibition of discrimination and transparency, as well as state aid.
AGA defended the HELLENIC COMPETITION COMMISSION before the Athens Administrative Court of Appeal in a case brought by the HELLENIC RETAIL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION and its members for the annulment of fines imposed by the HCC for illegal pricing cartel; fines were upheld.
