“Rewriting” Greece’s Inheritance Law after 80 Years

Name Partner, Professor Apostolos Georgiades responded to the Ministry of Justice’s invitation to form and lead a Legislative Drafting Committee for the long-awaited transformation of Greek Inheritance Law. The Committee, consisting of leading legal experts (academics, judges, lawyers, and notaries), following months of and intensive work and deliberation, delivered its proposal for the reform of inheritance law in Greece which has been in force for eight decades.

During the special event that was held by the Ministry of Justice, Professor Apostolos Georgiades presented the Committee’s core proposals, emphasizing on the importance of bringing the existing framework up to date and highlighting the need for a modern legal framework to meet contemporary social and economic needs.
