Expert Witness Testimony before London’s High Court

Professor George Georgiades has been called as expert witness on Greek law in HSBC Bank Plc v Pearl Corp & Ors [2019] EWHC 231 (Comm) and in HSBC Bank Plc v Antaeus and Ors [2018] EWHC 1733 (Comm) before London’s High Court.
Both cases involved defences raised by guarantors in case of personal guarantees given for facility agreements in the shipping business.
The judgments of Deputy Judge Andrew Henshaw QC and of Judge Sir Ross Cranston include impressive considerations of the notion of negligence, abuse of rights and good faith under Greek law.
